David Packard said: “A group of people get together and exist as an institution we call a company so they are able to accomplish something collectively that they could not accomplish separately” – welcome to the FIVE Family, a gathering of individuals that together are making a difference in our community.

My name is Dr. Elizabeth Sparling. I am the Clinical Director and Matriarch (Owner) of FIVE. I think our FIVE family is likely the most talented group of professionals on the Island, so welcome! I have more than 25 years of experience in the field having worked as a Low Incidence Special Education Teacher in the Saanich School District, a Behaviour Analyst at the Vancouver Island Health Authority Provincial Autism Program and various other for-profit and non-profit agencies, before moving solely to my own company. I have a doctoral degree from Royal Roads University; my dissertation focussed on identity formation of neurodiverse individuals and the impact of the medical model. Neurodiverse individuals do not need to be fixed, they, like everyone else, need an opportunity to learn skills that enable them to be their best person. I am also the mother of a fantastically amazing neurodiverse son. I am very excited to be a part of this team!

Hi! I’m Lexie, and I’m the Clinical Supervisor, Sexual Health Educator, and a member of the amazing team of BCBA’s here at FIVE. My journey started with a degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria. I began working with children and youth in 2010, and gained invaluable experience before beginning my career as a Behaviour Consultant. In 2017 I completed my Masters of Education through the University of Cincinnati and received my BCBA credentials. I’m also a Level A RASP Clinician which means I get to work with littles! After 12 years in the field of ABA, I continue to get so much enjoyment out of my work. The individuals I’ve supported are some of the coolest people I’ve met. Getting to help them meet their goals and become the person they want to be is incredible, and I’ve never looked back!

My absolute favourite part of working in the field is the wonderful kiddos—watching their progress and celebrating their achievements is my motivator! I also love being able to share my knowledge of ABA to support families with problem solving and implementing ABA confidently on their own. When I am not divulged inall things ABA, you can find me spoiling my wiener dog, Bub, and taking him on adventures or playing soccer with my women’s team! I am very excited to continue to get to know each and every one of you in the FIVEfamily.
