David Packard said: “A group of people get together and exist as an institution we call a company so they are able to accomplish something collectively that they could not accomplish separately” – welcome to the FIVE Family, a gathering of individuals that together are making a difference in our community.

My name is Dr. Elizabeth Sparling. I am the Clinical Director and Matriarch (Owner) of FIVE. I think our FIVE family is likely the most talented group of professionals on the Island, so welcome! I have more than 25 years of experience in the field having worked as a Low Incidence Special Education Teacher in the Saanich School District, a Behaviour Analyst at the Vancouver Island Health Authority Provincial Autism Program and various other for-profit and non-profit agencies, before moving solely to my own company. I have a doctoral degree from Royal Roads University; my dissertation focussed on identity formation of neurodiverse individuals and the impact of the medical model. Neurodiverse individuals do not need to be fixed, they, like everyone else, need an opportunity to learn skills that enable them to be their best person. I am also the mother of a fantastically amazing neurodiverse son. I am very excited to be a part of this team!

Hi! I’m Lexie, and I’m the Clinical Supervisor, Sexual Health Educator, and a member of the amazing team of BCBA’s here at FIVE. My journey started with a degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria. I began working with children and youth in 2010, and gained invaluable experience before beginning my career as a Behaviour Consultant. In 2017 I completed my Masters of Education through the University of Cincinnati and received my BCBA credentials. I’m also a Level A RASP Clinician which means I get to work with littles! After 12 years in the field of ABA, I continue to get so much enjoyment out of my work. The individuals I’ve supported are some of the coolest people I’ve met. Getting to help them meet their goals and become the person they want to be is incredible, and I’ve never looked back!

Hello community! My name is Whitney. I am a neurodiverse clinician at FIVE Behaviour & Education Services Inc. I have a bachelors in Psychology and a masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis. I am a BCBA and I am a level A Behaviour Consultant on the Registry of Autism Service Providers. I believe in honouring and celebrating individual strengths while creating meaningful goals based on the learner and family values. I know that learning can be stressful for children, youth, and teens; therefore, I strive to develop creative and playful strategies to make learning fun.

I’m Alison Sloan and I am one of the clinicians with the FIVE family. I am very excited to be a part of this group of amazing people who strive to make meaningful changes in the lives of others. My name is Carly McDiarmid and I have just joined FIVE Behaviour Consultation Services Inc. I started working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis 9 years ago as a Behavior Interventionist. I am now a Category B, Behavior Consultant on the RASP, and am currently completing my Masters Degree through Western University in order to obtain my BCBA certification. I have experience implementing ABA with children of all ages, in homes, centres, schools and in the community. My favourite part of working in the field is being able to share my knowledge of ABA to support families with problem solving and implementing ABA confidently on their own. When I am not divulged in all things ABA, you can find me on the soccer pitch, or experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes! I am very excited to get to know each and every one of you in the FIVE family.

I am currently a BCaBA (Board Certified assistant Behaviour Analyst), but will be completing my masters in Special Education – Applied Behaviour Analysis at the University of Arizona and ready to move on to becoming a BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst). I am originally from Ontario, but fell in love with BC when I was earning my undergrad at the University of Victoria and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else! I have been in the ABA field for over six years and am very passionate about the families I work with. I have a lot of energy and enthusiasm for my work and am dedicated to consistently growing and adapting to meet my families where they are at. I have worked with very young children, youth, and adults with varying levels of developmental and/ or behavioural challenges. In my spare time, I love to be outside with my family and friends or curled up at home with my cat, Cheeto.

My name is Caitlin Lamothe, I am a Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst who will be supporting the Cowichan Valley region. I have experience working in numerous settings including in the individual’s home, school, daycare, group homes, or out in the community. I have worked with children of all ages and enjoy each stage life brings! My favourite part about working in the field is watching the excitement on children’s faces when they learn a new skill and watching the family celebrate as a team. In my spare time you will find me at the lake with my family or in the kitchen. I enjoy camping by the lake or trying out new recipes. I am really looking forward to joining the FIVE team from the Cowichan Valley!
